GETTING MORE THAN ONE PERSPECTIVE ON YOUR PIECE OF ART IS IMPORTANT, BUT GETTING PERSPECTIVES FROM ARTISTS IN DIFFERENT MEDIUMS IS EVEN BETTER.

CEDAR CITY, Utah November 9 – A brand new Art Appreciation club is starting on the Southern Utah University campus. This club will welcome artists from every medium and every experience level. Samantha Niemann started this club to allow students to be able to connect through art appreciation and get constructive criticism on projects while learning more about well known artists.

By going through a very long process of paperwork, and waiting for the club’s approval, I was able to create a club that can bring all mediums of art together. Starting November 9th, we will be meeting at SUU every Wednesday from 6-7pm in the Centrum, room 219.

SUU has a program called EDGE, where the students must do a project that will benefit others, as well as themselves. These projects are geared toward their goals in the future, and are designed to improve student’s learning experience.

“I wanted to become a better leader and be involved in the arts, so I created a club where I can do both. Art Appreciation allows me to continue learning more about art, while learning to lead a group of people successfully. ” Niemann said.
